Make Your Own Family Tree

What are your family traditions for the holidays?
They go together and make a tree and decorate it with traditional decorations or make your own? Do you have a specific meal or go somewhere special? Please share. I will also on vacation for three weeks and not a computer get, I just wanted to wish everyone all my contacts (and elsewhere for that matter) a Merry Christmas / Hanukah / Holiday Season!
In the last 17 years of tradition have changed a lot, I will take you through a timeline a bit: When I was little, my immediate family (mom, dad, brother and two older sisters) and I would go up to the Snowy Mountains and cut down trees and bring them back to the first and December (the side "is also my birthday, But the tradition started long before I was born) and we would decorate the tree and set it on the first December each year and every year there would be an alternative the star to one of us put at the top. Earlier as well as (quite late in mid-November) would we decorate our house with Christmas lights and decorations and everything, our house always looked so pretty, my mother was really in the Christmas things and did so for us children, and Christmas lighting and decorating the house are a big deal where I grew up and running around and people always come in your garden on nights and weekends to look more closely at them, and you have to learn a bit '' You know, talk to them or catch up with candy canes and Christmas were always given out. On Day, we would head up to my grandma's house, where it was always only my grandmother, my two aunts, uncles, my 2 cousins, my brother and sisters, my grandma and my parents and we would spend days there, we would have lunch and dinner and everything and just hang around, open presents and go swimming when it was hot (which was usually because it was summer and all), and then we would head home. Our Christmas tree came sometime in the first week of January and so has the house decorations. After my father died, the situation changed significantly. My mother not have the time to take to cut down a natural tree was more than that they had time to work in full, so we took us instead of a fake tree, which also speaks volumes and presentations on 1 December. We do not put so much effort into decorating the house, as we had at home a completely different area where such a thing was not so moved a big deal. So Christmas was much less than the material things and a lot more closely than the being of time with our family and spending. After a big fight in our family, things will have changed from my grandmother and my aunts also there to get it straight, my grandmother, great-uncle and his wife and daughter, me, my mother and my two sisters in general – at that point my brother had lost interest in the holiday region as a whole and was often working and / or with his girlfriend, now his Woman. My brother and his girlfriend eventually married and had a daughter, Olivia, now 6 and my oldest sister married and had one daughter, Charlotte, Now the 3 (they had just their second daughter, Luca, on Nov 16), then changed again, with new additions to the family and make our Christmas celebrations more and centered around the kids, it's fun a lot. This year in May, my mother had passed away from type 2 diabetes (she had her since she was five and it was all kind of expected but one can never fully prepare for this kind of thing anyway ..) so everything will be different again. I'm by myself living with a boyfriend of almost 2 years I have finished with school and I'm going to university and next year my friend and I are planning, from the family towards the end of next year (it may seem too young or too early, but it is perfect timing for us) and so I think it will be time for us to start our own traditions.:) Good question, and sorry my Answer is so long! Merry Christmas / Hanukkah / holiday time as well! x
